Hi guys, today I am here to discuss about the social platform owned by Google, that is, Google Plus with some special tricks as well.

Google  Plus is a social networking and Identity service that is owned by Google Inc. Started on June 28th 2011, it has attracted people like a magnet resulting into second largest Social Networking Site with an estimate of 540 million monthly active users. Apart from social networking, it is an authorship tool that associates web content with its author.

Features of Google Plus

I am listing here some basic features of Google Plus.

User Profile: It is a public visible account that is attached to many Google Properties. This includes profile pic, about section, background image, previous work , schooling history, etc.

According to a research, you can drive 30% more people to work with you by setting up your user profile like a professional.


Circles: This feature enable users to organize people into groups or lists for sharing across various Google products and services.

Once a circle is created, a Google Plus user can share specific private content to only that circle.

Hangouts: It is a free video conferencing call service with upto 10 people, done via Google Plus website or mobile app. While hangout, you can share your screens with other users as well as built-in  apps such as YouTube, Google Docs, etc.

It has a further option, "Hangouts-On-Air" which allows you to create instant webcasts over World Wide Web.

In the beginning of this article, I mentioned that I would be sharing some Google Plus tricks. Here are those uncommon and special tricks.

Google Plus Custom URL:  G+ Custom URL is a short, easy-to-remember web address that links directly to your Google Plus Profile or business Page.

For example, my Google+ Custom URL is  google.com/+VinayKumarTechnoGeek.

Note:  Choose a wise Google+ username as your custom URL can't be changed once set.

Requirements for getting Google+ Custom URL

1. Your account needs to be good standing and meet a few other requirements.

2. For local Google Plus Pages: must be a verified local business

3. For other Google Plus Pages: must be linked to a website.

How to get Google Plus Custom URL

1. Sign in to your Google Plus account.

2. Go to Profile >> About.

3. Then, Scroll down to links section >> Edit.

4. Type your desired username in space provided (as shown below) and click on Save.

5. Congrats!! Now, you've a custom google plus URL.

Similarly, You can get desired username for your Google Plus Business Page.

Google Plus Votes (+1s) : Google+ vote is an option that if you like any image, article, link, etc you can vote(+1) it. You can consider it same as Facebook like button.

Link building plays a key role in SEO (As mentioned above). Work for it. Don’t ever think that Google is an idiot. Don’t even try to fool it, Sooner or later it will know whatever you did. And you will be penalized. The only alternative is to write quality content and “Hard Work”. What is the difference between a dofollow backlink and a nofollow backlink

As we all know Backlinks are of two types

• Dofollow backlinks
• Nofollow backlinks

 Dofollow backlinks

Search engines robots crawl all the webpages, images, text, hyperlink’s and everything else present on your blog/website in order to know what it all contains. When a robot while crawling reaches a dofollow backlink (hyperlink) it will also crawl that hyperlink and also the web page to which it is linked to. Means it will go to the depth of the hyperlink. It will check the hyperlink’s address and will go to the address and start crawling that web page too.

Nofollow backlinks

Nofollow backlinks are kind of opposite of dofollow one’s. They don’t allow the search engines robots/crawlers to go into the depth of the hyperlink. Therefore the webpage which is linked to the hyperlink will not be crawled by the search engines.

Q) Which is better Dofollow backlink or a Nofollow backlink?

According to me and many Bloggers only useful hyperlinks should be given a dofollow backlink which has high quality content. And the guestposts summited too should be given a dofollow backlink. Other links which are not so useful and with high quality content should be given a nofollow backlink.

• Firstly go to Google Webmaster tools and Add your blog there
• I am showing an example with my different blog that is www.fulltechtricks.com, which is registered with google webmasters.
• Now click on your blog
• Now go to crawl and then Fetch as google, enter your blog post URL there and click on submit
• After submitting refresh the page, you will see a screen like this

• After that Click on Submit to Index and then select 'Crawl this URL only' and then click on submit
• After 5 or 10 minutes your URL will be indexed by google
